Students of Satkhira Medical College staged Saturday demonstrations demanding completion of the construction of 250-bed Satkhira Medical College Hospital, reports UNB.
Witnesses said the medical college students took to the street and blocked Satkhira-Kaliganj road at Bakal around 10:30 am to press home their demand.
They formed a human chain for half an hour blocking the road, creating tailbacks on both sides of the road.
Speaking on the occasion, the students said although the construction work on the hospital Bhaban was supposed to end by September, 2013 it is still to be completed.
They also said they have to travel a distance of 4.0 km from the medical college to learn the practical terms at Satkhira Sadar Hospital.  Even, their education is being hampered due to lack of necessary instruments in Sadar Hospital, they said.
The students also sought the intervention of the Prime Minister and the Health Ministry in this regard.
