Saudi FM in city on two-day tour

Saudi foreign minister Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud arrives in Dhaka on a two-day official visit.
His Bangladesh counterpart Dr AK Abdul Momen received him at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.
According to officials concerned, multiple memoranda of understanding, including cooperation in the management of convicted criminals, are likely to be inked during the visit.
The Saudi minister is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina this morning.
He will then attend the first-ever political consultation between the two countries.
A whole range of issues related to trade and investment, security cooperation, manpower and Rohingya crisis will be key focus of the meeting.
Saudi Arabia is the home of the largest number of Bangladeshi expatriate workers. An estimated 2.3-million Bangladeshis are working there.
The consultation will be followed by the signing of several instruments, the officials say.
Mr Saud will leave Dhaka at 1:00 pm today.
