Savar sweater workers stage demo for wage increase

Thousands of workers of a sweater factory demonstrated on the factory premises demanding enhancement of production charge rates at Savar Tuesday morning, police said.
Witnesses said more than 5,000 workers of Dhaka Sweater Group, who have been demanding increased production rates, went on an-hour-long demonstration at about 10:00am.
The agitators vandalised the windowpanes and furniture of the apparel plant at Ulail. Some machinery and goods stored on the ground floor of the five-storey factory building were also damaged.
