Sayeed Iskander laid to rest

Maj (retd) Sayeed Iskander, a freedom fighter, former MP and younger brother of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, was laid to eternal rest at the capital's Banani Military Graveyard on Wednesday, reports UNB.
The military officer-turned politician, who breathed his last at a hospital in New York on Sunday, was buried after his fourth namaz-e-janaza on the premises of Gulshan Azad Mosque after Asar prayers.
Apart from family members, friends and well-wishers, several hundred people including senior BNP leaders, were present during the burial.
Earlier, a flight of Emirates Airlines carrying the body of Sayeed, an adviser to the BNP chairperson and the party's Feni district unit president, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 8:30 am.
The body was officially received by SM Saleh Ahmed, personal secretary to Khaleda Zia, and BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
