The hearings started at the four-member appeals bench led by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha on Wednesday.
The other judges of the bench are Justice Nazmun Ara Sultana, Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain and Justice Hasan Foez Siddique.
SM Shajahan and Shishir Monir stood for the Jamaat leader while Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and Deputy Attorney General Ekramul Haque argued for the state.
