SC stays bail to Minar until April 5

The Appellate Division (AD) of the Supreme Court (SC) stayed Thursday bail granted to Mahtab Uddin Minar, prime accused in the sensational Phulgazi upazila chairman Ekramul Haque killing case, until April 5, reports BSS.
Earlier on March 5, the AD stayed the High Court order that granted Minar bail for a week.
The AD bench, headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, extended the period of that stay. Attorney General Mahbubey Alam moved for the state while advocate MK Rahman stood for Minar, a
leader of BNP Phulgazi unit.Ekramul, also president of Phulgazi upazila unit of Awami League, was shot and burnt to death in his car in front of Bilashi Cinema Hall in Feni on May 20, 2014. His brother lodged a case against 35 persons with Minar as the prime suspect on that very day.
