SC stays HC order allowing lawyer to practise without certificate

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) today stayed a High Court order that allowed a lawyer to practice in court without any enrollment certificate, reports BSS.
"Operation of the judgment and order dated November 8 passed by the High Court is stayed till filing of the leave petition," said the four-member apex court bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain.
The court also stayed the part of the judgement that imposed a fine of Taka 100 each on the two writ petitioner lawyers.
Senior lawyer advocate Kamrul Haque Siddiqui, Barrsiter Ruhul Quddus Kazal and Barrsiter Anik R Haque moved the appeal filed by the two writ petitioners.
