SC to hear state\\\'s argument on Mujahid appeal today

The Supreme Court (SC) will hear the state's arguments on the appeal filed by Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mujahid against death penalty today (Wednesday), reports UNB.
International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 sentenced the Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general to death on July 17, 2013 for his crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971. A four-member bench of Appellate Division (AD), headed by Justice SK Sinha, fixed on Tuesday the date after closing the presentation of the judgment that began on April 29 this year.
The other members of the SC bench are Justice Nazmun Ara Sultana, Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain and Justice Hasan Foyez Siddique.
Mujahid's counsel Khandker Mahbub Hossain gave a statement on behalf of the convict.
After the completion of Mahbub's argument, when Attorney General Mahbubey Alam started the argument for the state, the bench adjourned the hearing until today (Wednesday).
He committed crimes in collaboration with the Pakistani occupation forces during the Liberation War in 1972.
The tribunal found the Al Badar boss guilty in five out of seven charges.
The charges included murder of intellectuals, genocide, abduction and persecution.
