SC upholds HC order on candidacy of BNP's Ali Azgar

The Appellate Division of Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld a High Court order canceling BNP leader Ali Azgar's candidature for Mymensingh-1 constituency in the upcoming 11th parliamentary election, reports UNB.
The seven-member bench led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order after hearing on an appeal filed by the candidate.
Although the Election Commission accepted nomination paper of Ali Azgar, Farmers Bank filed a writ with the High Court bringing allegation of money laundering.
