SCB meeting discusses trade, shipping issues

A Board of Directors meeting of Shippers' Council of Bangladesh (SCB) was held Sunday at the SCB conference room, Motijheel, Dhaka. Md. Rezaul Karim, chairman of SCB presided over the meeting, said a statement.
The meeting reviewed the existing problem and other issues to boost trade of the country and discussed recommendations to be sent as budget proposals to the National Board of Revenue.
The SCB Board decided to participate in the upcoming Global Shippers' Alliance (GSA) & Asian Shippers' Alliance (ASA) meeting to be held in Hong Kong and Macau on 25-27 March, 2018. A four member delegation lead by Md. Rezaul Karim, Chairman, SCB are expected to attend the meeting on behalf of SCB.
Apart from Bangladesh, European, Hong Kong, Indonesia & Thai Shippers' Council; China, Shenzen and Macau Shippers' Association and American Association of Exporters and Importers representatives are expected to attend the meeting.
The meeting also took decision to organise a round table discussion on Chittagong Port Problems & way-out and purchasing of SCB office space.
Senior Vice Chairman Ariful Ahsan, Vice Chairman Md. Munir Hossain and Directors Arzu Rahman Bhuiyan, Afsar Uddin Ahmed, A. K. M. Aminul Mannan (Khokon), Mohammad Shahjahan Khan and Ziaul Islam also attended the meeting.
