SCBA for publication of gazette notification

Monday, 26 April 2010

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Sunday insisted on the government to immediately publish a gazette notification on recruitment of higher court judges in the light of the Supreme Court guidelines, reports UNB.
The SCBA in a resolution adopted at an emergency general meeting said the guidelines for judges' recruitment were imperative for transparency and accountability of the judiciary, one of the organs of the state.
The meeting formally welcomed the Chief Justice's stand for declining to administer oath of office to advocate M Ruhul Quddus, a suspected murderer, and advocate M Khasruzzaman, an alleged vandal of the Supreme Court, as additional judges nominated by the President.
