Sector Commanders' Forum (SCF), a grouping of 1971 war veterans, Tuesday demanded constitution of more tribunals to expedite war crimes trial as the nation is set to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Victory Day, reports BSS.
"I believe that the government would consider the necessity of increasing the number of tribunals to quicken the trial of war criminals who committed the heinous crimes," SCF chairman and planning minister Air Vice Marshal (retd) AK Khandaker, Bir Uttam, told a press briefing at the Liberation War Museum in the city.
He added: "We know it is not possible to try all the war criminals during the remaining two years of the government's tenure but we demand the process be carried forward".
