Schmeichel pens new Man City deal

Monday, 24 September 2007

Manchester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has signed a new four-year contract with the club, reports BBC.
The Denmark Under-21 international made his debut in August and has not missed a match under Sven-Goran Eriksson.
"Everything's gone well this season, so to get this sorted out as well is really pleasing," said Schmeichel.
Eriksson said: "Kasper has been very impressive since I came to City, and I'm delighted that he has committed his future to the club."
Injuries to Sweden international Andreas Isaksson and England Under-21 keeper Joe Hart promoted Schmeichel to the first team at the start of the campaign.
And his fine form in conceding only two goals in the side's opening six league games has seen Schmeichel retain his place.
