School Handball begins

The Atom Gum U-12 School Handball competition (boys & girls) began at Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the city on Friday, reports BSS.
On the first day of the boys' section matches, Sunnydale beat Motijheel Model School and College (MMSC) by 7-4 goals, and Scholastica defeated South Bridge School by 4-1 goals.
In the girls' section, Shaheed Bir Uttam Lt Anwar Girls' College beat Siddheshwari Girls' High School by 6-0, HEED International School defeated Shaheed Police Smrity College by 4-0, Dhanmondi Tutorial outclassed South Point School and College by 6-0, Viqarunnisa Noon School & College beat South Bridge School by 3-0.
Earlier, Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, Secretary of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.
Pran Confectionary Limited head of marketing Shakhawat Hossain was present as the special guest.
Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, tournament committee's secretary (boys' division) Ayesha Zaman Khuki, tournament committee's secretary (girls' division) Rashida Afzalunnessa were present, among others, on the occasion.
A total of 23 school handball teams, including 13 of boys' and 10 of girls', are taking part in the meet.
