School teacher hacked to death in Pabna

PABNA, Feb 27: A female teacher was hacked to death by unidentified assailants in a classroom in Ataikula police station in Santhia Upazila of Pabna Sunday noon. The deceased was identified as Arifa Khatun, assistant teacher of Bhaina Govt Primary School in Santhia Upazila of the district and wife of Alamgir Hossain of village Chakkanapara of the Santhia Upazila. Police, teachers and students sources said that a gang of assailants numbering 4 to 5 entered the classroom at around 12.15pm on the day and hacked her to death. She died on way to the Pabna Medical College Hospital. Habibul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Ataikula police station said that she married Alamgir Hossain of village Chakkanapara in Santhia Upazila of the district about two months ago. The victim's husband is an assistant teacher of the same school. Pabna police super Jahangir Hossain Matubbar visited the spot. A case was filed with Ataikula police station in this regard.
