Schoolboy killed in city, 2 friends held

Police in an overnight raid arrested two teenaged boys on charge of killing a schoolboy who was stabbed to death at Mirajnagar of South Rayerbagh in the city, police said. Sub-Inspector of Kadamtoly Police Station Mohammad Saleh told that the deceased was Md Shafiqul Islam, 17, a student of class-IX in Roisnagar High School. 'A gang of four friends severely stabbed Shafiqul calling him out of his house last night. He was found seriously injured in front of the House No 6, Lane No-1 near Model School Gali, Block- B, Mirajnagar. He was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where doctor declared him dead at midnight,' the SI said. Kadamtoly police arrested two of his (deceased) friends - Ashraful Alam Ridoy, 20, and Md Akash Chowdhury, 19, -- in this connection. ’Previous enmity is the root cause of killing,’ Saleh, also the investigating officer (IO) of the case, added, according to BSS.
