Schoolgirl assaulted

BRAHMANBARIA, July 20 (UNB): A sexually perverted youth assaulted a teenage schoolgirl on the way to her school at Sayedtula village under Sarail Upazila Saturday.
Witnesses said the daredevil Abdus Sattar swooped on the 13 year old girl when she was going to Sarail Girls' High School at about 9:00 am and bit different parts of her body, leaving her injured.
Hearing the screams of the victim local people rushed to the scene and rescued her but the spoilt youth managed to flee. She was admitted to Sarail health complex.
Headmistress of the school Gouri Rani Roy filed a case with the police in this connection. Police said they have launched a drive to arrest the culprit.
Meanwhile, teachers and students of the school brought out a protest rally and demanded exemplary punishment of the culprit. They also submitted a memorandum to local UNO in this regard.
