Schoolgirl crushed under covered van

A schoolgirl was killed in a road accident at Chandina upazila in Comilla on Tuesday. The dead is Tanni, 8, daughter of Khokon Billah, a resident of Bagur village in the upazila. Hasan, sergeant of Highway Police, said a Dhaka-bound rashly driven covered van knocked Tanni down near Bagur Bus Terminal on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway at about 10:00 am when she was returning home after school, leaving her dead on the spot. Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to a hospital for autopsy. A case was filed, according to UNB.
