Schoolgirl found dead in Moulvibazar

A schoolgirl was found dead in a paddy field at Sadanpur village in Kulaura Upazila of Moulvibazar district on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Laboni Akter Nazrin, 9, a class III student of Harichak Government Primary School and also daughter of Dubai expatriate Nazrul Miah of the village. Amol Kumar Dhar, officer-in-charge of Kulaura Police Station, said local people spotted the body of Laboni lying in a paddy field beside her house at about 6:00am and informed police. Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The deceased’s uncle Abdul Basit Bachchu said Laboni’s friend Safia had called her out of the house on Wednesday morning to go to school. But, she had not return since then. Police arrested Safia for her suspected involvement in the killing, according to UNB.
