Schoolgirl raped in Jessore

A schoolgirl was raped allegedly by a young man at Rajnagar Bakabarshi in Keshabpur upazila in Jessore district on Monday night. Mahtab Uddin, officer-in-charge of Keshabpur Police Station, said one Kaizar Islam, 25, son of Rafiqul Islam of Nepakathi picked up the girl, who is a class VIII student, to a nearby jute field and raped her at night. Later he confined the girl to his house. Being informed, police conducted a raid at the house of Kaizar and rescued the girl. Police also arrested the rapist from the spot. A case was filed in this connection, according to a news agency.
