Schoolgirl violated in Rajshahi

A schoolgirl was raped by a young man in Talaimari Phultala in Rajshahi city on Friday. Police and locals said some young men, led by Ashique Ali, 19, a wielding worker and son of Nurul Islam of Jamalpur area in the city, abducted the girl, a class IV student, from the area around 4:00pm. Ashique Ali took the girl to his friend’s house and raped her there overnight. Finding no trace of the girl, her father informed the matter to Boalia police station. Later, police conducted a drive in Talaimari Phultala the area and rescued the girl. They arrested Ashique from the spot. During preliminary interrogation, Ashique confessed the matter to police, according to a news agency.
