Science-dependent society for sustainable uplift stressed

RAJSHAHI, June 21 (BSS): Speakers at a motivational meeting said building of science-dependent society has become an urgent need for substantial and sustainable development of the nation.
To this end, there is no alternative to enhance the number of science teachers in secondary level schools coupled with enriching them with the science and ICT knowledge adequately.
Barendra Unnayan Prochesta (BUP) and Freedom Foundation jointly organised the meeting styled "Aspects of enhancing Science Teachers in Schools" held at Paba Upazila Complex hall room in the district Friday.
More than 30 head teachers from different schools in Paba and Mohapur Upazilas attended the meeting.
Lawmaker Ayen Uddin addressed the meeting as the chief guest while Paba Upazila Secondary Education Officer Muktadeer Ahmed and Mohanpur Upazila Secondary Education Officer Joynal Abedeen spoke as the special guests.
During his welcome address, Foyzulllah Chowdhury, Director of BUP, narrated the aspects of enhancing science teachers in schools while Coordinator Rashed Ibney Obayed moderated the discussion.
Ayen Uddin said the science teachers of the schools could play due role towards substantial and sustainable boosting the number of science-minded students which is very important for flourishing the sector of information and communication technology.
He viewed there is no way but to wide-ranging promotion of the science and technology sector to take forward the nation successfully.
He referred to various aspects of expanding science education towards doorsteps of both rural and urban students and said there is no alternative to acquiring scientific knowledge to devise ways and means how to make the nation technologically advanced.
