Seaports asked to hoist cautionary signal No. three

Wednesday, 29 July 2015

The maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No three following a monsoon depression over the Bay of Bengal, reports UNB.
The monsoon depression over the North Bay and adjoining Bangladesh coast remained practically stationary over the same area. It was centred at 6am (Tuesday) about-180 km west-southwest of Chittagong port, 200-km west-northwest of Cox's Bazar port, 75-km southeast of Mongla port and 10-km east of Payra port, said a special bulletin of the Met Office.
Under its influence squally weather may affect the North Bay, adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh and the maritime ports. It said the monsoon depression is likely to intensify further.
