CAPE TOWN, Oct 28 (Reuters): The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has drafted alternative investment fund guidelines and could release the final code within a few months, an official with the Sebi board said Friday.
India media recently reported that the Sebi was mulling a framework to regulate private equity investment in one of the world's top emerging economies.
"Draft guidelines are there and we have received responses from various players, we are examining the responses and maybe in a few months we will come with the final guidelines," Prashant Saran told the reporter on the sidelines of a financial education conference in Cape Town.
