SEBL, BPO sign remittance distribution agreement

From now on the Southeast Bank Limited (SEBL) will transfer money remitted by the expatriate Bangladeshis to their relatives in any destination in Bangladesh through the network of Bangladesh Post Office (BPO) quickly.
In this connection, a remittance distribution agreement was signed between the two organisations in the city recently, said a press release.
Director General of the BPO Mobasherur Rahman and Deputy Managing Director of the SEBL Syed Imtiaz Hasib signed the deal on behalf of their respective organisations.
High officials of both the organisations were also present at the agreement signing ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mobasherur Rahman said that the agreement would result in increased flow of remittances from different parts of the world by providing fast and quick delivery of funds to the beneficiary's doorstep in any corner of Bangladesh through their trusted and largest network in the country.
Mr Syed Imtiaz Hasib stated that the signing of this agreement would encourage expatriate Bangladeshis to remit funds through banking channel.
It will further strengthen the country's economy and increase foreign currency reserve, he added.
