Sec 144 imposed in Satkhira bus terminal

The local administration on Tuesday imposed Section 144 prohibiting mass gathering at the central bus terminal of Satkhira town following a clash between two groups of the ruling Awami League. The restriction will remain in force for an indefinite period from 12:55 am. Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Enamul Haque said the clash ensued as a chase and counter-chase took place between two groups of AL at the bus terminal on Monday noon over establishing supremacy, leaving five people injured. On information, police brought the situation under control by firing bullets and arrested four people from the spot. Apprehending further clash, the administration slapped the ban on all types of gathering in the terminal and around to maintain law and order in the area, according to UNB.
