SEC body to investigate recent increase in prices of Rahim Textile shares

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Tuesday formed a committee to investigate the recent increase in prices of Rahim Textile shares, officials said.
The stock market regulator has directed the two-member committee comprising its director Rezaul Karim and assistant director Md. Rakibur Rahman to submit the enquiry report within next 30 working days.
The committee will investigate whether there was any abnormal or insider trading of shares of Rahim Textile, officials said.
Sources said the share prices of Rahim Textile were Tk 418 on January 1 this year, which reached Tk 1567 in July.
On Tuesday, it opened at Tk 1548.50 although no shares were traded.
