Second phase of BPL football now to begin on Thursday

The 2nd phase of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football, scheduled to begin today (Monday), has been deferred by three days following cyclone Fani which unleashed its weak force on Bangladesh on Saturday, reports UNB.
The 2nd phase of the 13-team tournament will now begin on Thursday (May 09).
Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) took the decision at a meeting on Friday (May 03) considering the prevailing situation.
Earlier, the Professional Football League Committee of Bangladesh Football Federation on Wednesday decided to start the 2nd phase of the league today (Monday).
Meanwhile, the 2nd registration window for the players of BPL, which opened on April 21, completed last Thursday (May 02).
After the first phase matches on April 20, Bashundhara Kings comfortably dominated the league as the lone unbeaten team securing 34 points from 12 matches while defending champions Dhaka Abahani Limited followed them with 30 points from 12 encounters.
