Secretariat fire doused

The fire that erupted at a multi-storey building at Secretariat in Dhaka on Wednesday morning, has been doused. Police said a fire broke out on the fourth floor of Building No 4 at the Secretariat on Abdul Ghani Road around 10:40am. The building houses the Ministry of Agriculture. Police, employees and staff of different ministries controlled the fire before the flame spread to other building, witnesses said. Sources at the Fire Service central control room said the fire originated from an electric short circuit on the fourth floor of Building-4. Being informed, several firefighting units rushed to the Secretariat. However, the Secretariat staff and employees controlled the blaze before the firefighters arrived. None was injured in the incident, according to a news agency.
