MANIKGANJ, Aug 20 (bdnews24.com): Awami League activists in Manikganj formed a human-chain Wednesday protesting a planned visit by controversial BNP lawmaker Salahuddin Quader Chowdury to the locality Thursday, forcing local authorities to impose Section 144 banning local gatherings.
Daulatpur police chief, Ami Newaz, said local administration had enforced Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which forbids gatherings of more than five people, in Daulatpur Sadar, which includes Matilal Degree College, for 24 hours from 9:00 pm Wednesday.
