Security beefed up in Dhaka city

Security has been beefed up in the city on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, which will be observed in the country on Monday. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said they are ready to provide security for Musallis who will say Eid prayers in different areas of the city on Monday morning. DMP commissioner Benajir Ahmed visited the National Eidgah (prayer ground) in the High Court compound on Sunday. A total of 652 Eid jamaat (congregations) will be held at 568 places in Dhaka city. DMP commissioner Benajir also said that the police are also on alert so that no one can harass the devotees in local areas, according to a news agency.
