Security guard shot dead in city

A security guard of a house was shot dead by assailants in the city's Kafrul area Friday morning. The victim was identified as Anwar Hossain (25), security guard of House No-497 at Purbo Senpara Parbata. Hospital sources said a gang of assailants opened fire on Anwar at 9:30am, leaving him dead on the spot. Caretaker of the neighbouring house said the terrorists demanded Tk 0.5 million from the house owner a few days ago. "They gunned down Anwar as the house owner refused to pay them toll," he added. — UNB
