Security steps taken ahead of Eid, Puja

Security measures have been stepped up across the country for smooth and peaceful celebration of the Eid-ul-Azha and the Durga Puja, reports BSS.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Hassan Mahmud Khandker directed all the police force to perform their duties with utmost sincerity and professionalism so that the Muslim and Hindu communities could celebrate their festivals smoothly and peacefully.
The order came Saturday from two separate meetings on law and order and security ahead of the Eid and the Puja with the police chief in the chair at its headquarters. He also called upon all particularly the policemen to remain alert on the occasion of Eid and Puja.
At the meetings, Assistant Inspector General (AIG-Police Headquarters) Mahfuzur Rahamn elaborated details of the already taken security measures for home-goers, vehicles of carrying sacrificial animals, cattle markets, Eidgah jamaats and Puja mandaps.
