Sedition case filed against Hasina, 45 others

KHULNA, Aug 12 (BSS): A sedition case has been filed against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 45 others on charges of conspiring to overthrow the interim government.
Bidhan Chandra Roy, Sub Inspector (SI) of Detective Branch (DB) police of KMP, filed the treason case with Sonadanga Model Police Station as plaintiff on Monday, Shafiqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station, confirmed.
The other named accused in the case included Khulna District Awami League Vice-President Advocate MM Mujibur Rahman, Sheikh Hasina's cousin and ex-parliament members Sheikh Helal Uddin, Sheikh Salauddin Jewel and SM Kamal Hossain and Advocate Parvez Alam Khan.
Besides, 30 to 40 unidentified individuals have been accused in the case.
