Seed protecting Provax 200 WP hits local market

Hossain Enterprise CC Limited, an agro-chemical company engaged in crop protection and seed treatment, in association with Chemtura Corporation, USA has started marketing of Provax 200 WP, a globally used seed protecting fungicide, for the first time in Bangladesh.
In this connection, a launching ceremony was organised in the city Thursday, according to a press release.
Director of the Plant Protection Wing of Ministry of Agriculture Md Altaf Hossain presided over the launching ceremony.
Among others, Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) M Nurul Alam, Chief of Political, Economic and Commercial Office of the US Embassy in Bangladesh Heather Variava, Industry Leader for South Asia of the Chemtura Corp., USA Indranil Das and Member-Director (Crops) of the BARC Md Abdur Razzaque were present at the launching ceremony.
In her address, Heather underscored the need for proper seed treatment technology for greater yields in Bangladesh.
She also expressed the hope that seed treatment by using effective seed protecting fungicide like Provax 200 WP would go a long way in matching the fungi in Bangladesh soil that required controlling for excellent seed germination and protection from fungal attacks during the seedling stages.
Managing Director of the company Afzal Hossain welcomed the guests, while Director NU Khan gave the vote of thanks.
The inaugural function was conducted by Director of the company Ajit Kumar Nath.
