Seeds, fertiliser worth Tk 15m allocated for flood-hit farmers of B'baria

BRAHMANBARIA, Nov 3: The government has allocated seeds and fertiliser worth Tk 1,48,22,063 for rehabilitation of flood-affected farmers in the district.
Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), Brahmanbaria Rafiqul Islam said this Financial Express. Under the post-flood rehabilitation programme, fertiliser and seeds of different crops including Boro paddy, wheat, maize, lentil, mustard and vegetables are being distributed among 46,124 small and marginal farmers of the district.
Of the total, 45.00 tonnes of Boro seed, 38.25 tonnes of wheat seed, 1.87 metric tones of maize seed, 9.37 tonnes of lentil seed, 3.93 metric tones of mustard seed and 1.50 tonnes of vegetable seed, 405.37 tonnes of urea, 231.75 tonnes of TSP and 224.62 tonnes of MOP fertiliser are being distributed in eight upazilas of the district.
Distribution of seeds and fertiliser will continue until December. Official sources said, the recent flood damaged standing crops causing a loss of Tk 367 million.
