Selective bank branches to remain open on Oct 3

Branches of commercial banks dealing with readymade garment (RMG) businesses in Dhaka city, Savar, Ashulia, Gazipur, Tongi, Narayanganj and Chittagong will remain open from 10am to 12 noon on October 3 to facilitate disbursement of salaries and allowances to garment workers before the vacation for Eid-ul-Azha. Giving this instruction in a circular on Tuesday, the Bangladesh Bank (BB) has also asked the banks concerned to make adequate security arrangements for those branches during the working hours, according to a news agency.
