Selim gets JP ticket to contest N\\\'ganj by-polls

President of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers & Exporters' Association (BKMEA) AKM Selim Osman got on Wednesday opposition Jatiya Party's nomination to contest the Narayanganj-5 by-polls to be held on June 26, reports UNB.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the party's Parliamentary committee.
After the meeting, Jatiya Party (JP) secretary general Ziauddin Bablu told reporters that Selim Osman was declared the party candidate for the polls as per a decision of its chairman HM Ershad.
The parliamentary constituency fell vacant following the death of JP MP Nasim Osman, brother of AKM Selim Osman. He died on April 30 at the age of 65 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in India.
