Selim Osman to contest Narayanganj bypolls

Selim Osman, the brother of deceased Narayanganj-5 MP Nasim Osman to contest the bypoll for the seat, scheduled for June 26. He bought a nomination paper from the HM Ershad-led Jatiya Party (JP) on Wednesday. He was accompanied with his brother Shamim Osman, ruling Awami League MP of Narayanganj-4. The parliamentary constituency fell vacant after JP lawmaker Nasim Osman's death on April 30. JP's Central Office Secretary Abul Hasan Jewel told bdnews24.com that Selim had bought the nomination and completed it around 12pm at the party's Banani Office. The party's Parliamentary Committee is scheduled to decide on its candidate for the seat on Wednesday, according to bdnews24.com.
