Semi-finals today

UNB, BanglaVision, Ajker Kagoj and New Nation reached the semi-finals of the Meril Media Cup Football winning their respective quarter-final matches at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city Monday, reports UNB.
In today's first semi-final, high flying UNB play Bangla Vision at 10:00 am while New Nation meet Ajker Kagoj in the second semis at 11:00 am.
In the quarterfinals, BanglaVision beat New Age by 2-0 goals with Bahar and Asif scoring for the winners. Bahar was adjudged the best player of the match.
In two other matches, UNB defeated Sangbad by a solitary goal with player of the match Tanveer Ahmed Raju scoring the match-winner while Ajker Kagoj beat ETV 1-0 with Biplob netting the match-decider.
In other quarterfinal match, New Nation outplayed Daily Star by 4-1 goals in tie-breaker. The match was drawn 1-1 during the stipulated time. Al Amin put Daily Star ahead while Sharif Khan restored parity for New Nation.
Bangladesh Sports Journalists' Association (BSJA) President Monjurul Huq and General Secretary Syed Mamun were, among others, present on the occasion.
