Seminar extols grade-500 steel

CHITTAGONG, Mar 05: Grade-500 reinforced steel has been widely accepted by the developers and construction companies of the country and achieved recognition from the structural designers and engineers for its stronger and higher quality.

Such an observation was made by the participants at a seminar arranged by the BSRM Steels Ltd at a local hotel Tuesday.

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) Vice-Chancellor Shyamol Kanti Biswas was chief guest while Dr Mahmud Omar Imam was the special guest on the occasion.

Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills (BSRM) Group Chairman Ali Hussain, in his address of welcome, greeted the participants and termed grade-500 steel as third generation construction accessories, which was first marketed in April, 2008.

The chief guest told the seminar that those who are concerned with the construction of high-rises and multistoried buildings have accepted grade-500 steel of BSRM as much more dependable and durable than others.

Developers, representatives of different construction industries, engineers and structural designers largely attended the seminar.
