Seminar on equal rights ends in Kurigram

KURIGRAM, Apr 24 (BSS): A seminar on 'Equal Citizenship Rights' was held at the conference room of the district Collectorate building on Wednesday.
ADAB, a coordinating body of non-government organisations (NGOs) working in Bangladesh, organised the workshop while Deputy Commissioner Sultana Parveen addressed it as the chief guest.
ADAB President of Kurigram Manik Chowdhury chaired the function while Civil Surgeon Dr Aminul Islam, Upazila Social Services Officer Habibur Rahman, freedom fighter Md Shahabuddin, General Secretary of Hindu-Buddhu-Christian Oikya Parishad Alok Sarker and General Secretary of Nar Shundor Samity Nirmal Chandra Shil spoke, among others.
The speakers said women, extreme poor, indigenous people, religious minority, people with disability, hijra and dalit are the most oppressed people in the society.
Harijan people, fishermen, development workers, government and non-government officials took part the seminar.
