CHITTAGONG, May 12: Trade imbalance leads to dependence on other countries and threatens the sovereignty of the nation..
Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Director (Chittagong region) Md Golam Mostafa expressed the opinion while addressing a seminar on 'Trade negotiation techniques for effective export trade' arranged by the EPB, Chittagong at its conference room Saturday.
Describing export trade as an essential indicator of the development of the country, Golam Mostafa said and added that it strengthens not only the economy of the country but also ensures balanced distribution of wealth.
He pointed out that the very success of the developed countries is based on its wide range of export trade. So, for expanding export market, improvement of the quality of export goods and diversification of products are essential.
EPB Director M Omar Faruque spoke as the resource person. About 50 representatives from banks, insurance companies, government and exporting companies took part in the seminar.
