Seminar on women empowerment held at DU

A day-long seminar on using mobile phone network and information communication technology (ICT) in empowering women and capacity building of women entrepreneurs was held on Tuesday at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University (DU). Women and Gender Studies Department of Dhaka University, Banglalink and the Asia Foundation, Bangladesh jointly organised the seminar. State Minister for Finance MA Mannan inaugurated the seminar as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the junior minister said the country can never progress without the contribution of women. He also said the present government is working relentlessly for the development of women as the country cannot go ahead without their development, according to UNB.
