Northern Agro Services Ltd and the South Asia Enterprise Development Facility of the International Finance Corporation (IFC-SEDF) jointly conducted a campaign for promoting organic fertiliser use in local tea gardens.
As a part of this campaign, three seminars on the benefit of using organic fertiliser for tea cultivation were held in Moulvibazar, Srimangal and Chittagong, says a press release.
Eminent agriculturists Sadrul Amin and Mohammad Mazedul were resource persons of the seminars, says a press release.
They highlighted how the use of organic fertiliser leads to greater yields, reduces costs and improves soil health.
Satisfied customers, who already used the organic product to grow tea, delivered testimonials on its effectiveness.
Tea-estate managers and senior officials of major tea companies attended the seminars. Representatives from Northern Agro Services and IFC-SEDF were also present.
