Sena Kalyan Insurance AGM approves 12pc cash dividend

The shareholders of Sena Kalyan Insurance Company Limited have approved 12 per cent cash dividend for the year ended December 31, 2022 as proposed by its Board of Directors.
The proposal was approved at the 10th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held virtually recently, with Chairman of the company Major General Iftekhar Anis in the chair, says a press release.
Managing Director and CEO Brigadier General MD Shafiq Shamim (retd), directors, company secretary and shareholders were present in the meeting.
In response to a question, Managing Director and CEO Brigadier General Md Shafiq Shamim (retd) said that despite being the youngest general insurance company in the country, its total assets have increased by 5.90 times in just 10 years, which is a significant achievement.
He said that in 2022, the company earned Tk 800.57 million in gross premium, which is 2.61 per cent higher than the previous year.
Chairman of the company Major General Iftekhar Anis presented the financial report.
He said that the underwriting profit of the company increased by 1.61 per cent to Tk 82.29 million in 2022 which is definitely a remarkable achievement.
