Sensex ends in green

MUMBAI, Apr 22 (Economic Times): Benchmarks ended volatile session in the positive terrain but after paring most of intra-day gains. Oil & gas and auto stocks were amongst the top performing sectors while realty and metals resisted the upmove.
Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex closed at 17544.65, up 72.09 points or 0.41 per cent. The index touched a high of 17778.34 and low of 17408.02.
National Stock Exchange's Nifty was at 5260.45, up 15.55 points or 0.30 per cent. The broader index hit a high of 5331.80 and low of 5221.10.
BSE Midcap Index was down 0.23 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.06 per cent lower.
Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE Oil and gas Index advanced 1.20 per cent and BSE Auto Index moved 0.76 per cent higher. BSE Realty Index was down 1.48 per cent.
