Sensex off highs, metals, realty, auto firm

MUMBAI, Oct 25 (Economic Times): Equities were in the positive terrain but off intraday highs as investors booked some profits off the table at higher levels. Metals, realty and auto continued to lead the upmove while FMCG space slipped in the red.
At 2:30pm Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex was at 20345.65, up 179.79 points or 0.89 per cent. The index touched a high of 20452.30 and low of 20199.73.
National Stock Exchange's Nifty was at 6118.30, up 52.25 points or 0.86 per cent. The index touched high of 6151.30 and low of 6094.60.
BSE Midcap Index was up 0.82 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index advanced 1.01 per cent higher.
Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE Metal Index rose 1.50 per cent, BSE Realty Index moved 1.35 per cent higher and BSE Auto Index was up 0.96 per cent.
Nifty gainers included Hindalco (4.77 per cent), ACC (4.11 per cent),Tata Motors (3 per cent), Ambuja Cement (2.90 per cent) and IDFC(2.69 per cent).
