Sensex rises by over 450 points on FII buying

MUMBAI, Oct 13 (Agencies): Indian shares extended gains to two per cent Wednesday afternoon, on strong foreign fund interest and firm world markets. At 2:48 pm the 30-share BSE index was up 2.08 per cent at 20,633.70 points, with all but one component advancing. The 50-share NSE index was up 2.2 per cent at 6,221.95.
BSE Midcap Index was up 0.91 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 1.14 per cent higher.
Sectorally, BSE IT Index was up 2.59 per cent, BSE FMCG Index gained 1.62 per cent and BSE Realty Index moved 1.60 per cent higher.
Sensex gainers included TCS (4.08 per cent), HDFC (3.41 per cent), IDFC (2.86 per cent), Jaiprakash Associates (2.59 per cent) and ITC (2.28 per cent).
