Sensex up 135 points

The Sensex and the Nifty were trading up by nearly 0.5 per cent despite circumspect Asian cues. At 11.40am, the 30-share BSE index Sensex was trading higher by 135.16 points or 0.51 per cent at 26,560.46 and the 50-share NSE index Nifty was trading up by 34.85 points or 0.44 per cent at 8,017.75. Among BSE sectoral indices, healthcare index was the star-performer and was up 1.38 per cent, followed by capital goods 1.19 per cent, auto 0.9 per cent and oil & gas 0.84 per cent. On the other hand, power index was down 0.44 per cent, followed by banking 0.3 per cent and metal 0.05 per cent. Top five Sensex gainers were Sun Pharma (+3.26%), M&M (+1.84%), ONGC (+1.56%), L&T (+1.48%) and Wipro (+1.47%), while the major losers were Tata Power (-1.65%), NTPC (-0.95%), SBIN (-0.79%), Hindalco (-0.51%) and Coal India (-0.3%), according to a news agency.
